How it works
On your Thank You Page, a customer inputs their Instagram and saves the image you provided to their mobile device.
Customer posts the image to their Instagram story and tags your brand's Instagram account.
Our system monitors the story post for 24 hours. Once verified, a discount code is generated and sent to their email.

How to get the most out of your Instagram Story Shoutouts with eVouch

So you’ve just installed eVouch. You think to yourself: “Now how do I get my next customer posting like you said?” Here are a few ‘must knows’ that we’ve compiled with data from our beta-testing and general best practices. Whether you’re at the beginning of your digital journey or are a serial eCommerce entrepreneur, we hope you’re able to take something away for your own campaign.
1. Your Discount Level
The discount level that you set on the eVouch dashboard is the most important aspect of the efficacy of your campaign. Without a high enough discount level, you’re missing out on the opportunity cost of a valuable Instagram story post and a repeat purchase. Retaining your current customer for a repeat purchase is extremely more cost efficient than acquiring a new one. If in doubt, increase your discount.Here's a rough guide on how to choose your discount level.

2. Choosing your image
eVouch gives you the option of using a templated best practice image or your own custom image. The templated image is designed in order to showcase your brand in the easiest way possible. If you’re feeling a bit adventurous and want to try a custom image make sure that you have an understanding of your shopper personas.For a custom image, we’ve found that using subtle designs without an overly corporate feel works especially well. When your shopper posts an Instagram story shoutout, they are putting their name and reputation on the line for your brand.
3. Optimize your Instagram Landing Page
Your brand’s Instagram delivers your first impression. It can determine whether a browser turns into a buyer. Invest time into designing your Instagram page with a collection of highlights that has your brand putting their best foot forward. Make sure to have a link to your website in your bio.

Top of the funnel (TOFU), middle of the funnel (MOFU), and bottom of the funnel (BOFU). Don’t Stop at Conversion

Making it to a shopper’s inbox is a great achievement. Don’t waste it. You don’t want to be sending robot-like email templates to your customers or you risk the unsubscribe. Invest time into interesting copy and professional design. The difference is drastic.Keep your customers subscribed to your newsletter in order to keep open the opportunity for future communication.
How does the discount code work?
Once our system has verified a story post, an email will be automatically sent to your customer's email (the one they used for the purchase) from firstname.lastname@example.org.The email will contain an automatically generated unique discount code, which will be added to your Discounts tab in your Shopify admin page.The discount code is redeemable once and without an expiry date.
Can I choose any discount amount?
While the eVouch plugin lets you input any amount for your discount, we recommend a discount that considers both your shoppers needs and your own margins. A discount too low will result in a weak incentive for your shoppers to post.Read our blog on how to optimize your discount level!
Can I change the discount details?
Currently we can only offer a discount for the whole cart without product exceptions. We are working on making this customizable in the future!
Can I customize the discount email?
Currently no. You can check what the discount email looks like by clicking the "view example" link under the Dashboard tab.
Tracking & Verifying
How do you track analytics?
eVouch’s algorithm measures the engagement of each Instagram profile who uses our services. With this algorithm, scores are allocated to customers and a statistically correct approximation of their reach and views can be created.
How do you stop fake Instagram accounts?
The eVouch system requires all posters to have at least 50 followers. We have also built and trained a simple artificial neural network model to detect spam/fake Instagram accounts.
What if customers delete their photo?
We check both at the start of the process and at the end of the 24 hours to make sure a shopper has not deleted their post. Incentives are only allocated after this 24 hour period.
How do I setup the app?
You can setup the app in just two easy steps:
Customize your story widget. This is basically what your customers will see on the thank you page after purchase. It informs them that they can post a story for a discount and collects their IG information. Enter your brand's Instagram username, discount amount, and brand color.
Choose what story template your customers will post on their Instagram story. This is a given image that the customer will download then post. There are two options:
- Choose from one of our quick-start templates if you're not sure what image to use yet. You can always change this later!
- Custom Image: Create your own image from scratch that's true to your brand.

I’m not getting any Instagram stories, what should I do?
There are two main factors for you not getting your stories, your discount and your story image. Your discount level should be enough to incentivize your shoppers to post on their Instagram story. If your discount level is the same as any other sale, shoppers won’t feel pushed to post.Secondly, your story image. For many shoppers, their Instagram story and their social media in general is a reflection of their public ego. Therefore, shoppers can be protective of the integrity of their Instagram story. A good exercise is to put yourself in the shoes of your shoppers posting.Test out different combinations of discounts and images to hit the sweet spot!For best results, follow the guide on this blog on what discount amount to give and what story image to upload.
What image should I give?
The image provided should best fit with your objectives. Think of it as a Facebook ad creative. You can showcase your product, your company, or even your exemplary service. While you are free to let customers share any image, we do verify that the image fall under our terms and conditions.If you’re still unsure of what to provide, get in touch with us!
Can we remove "powered by eVouch" ?
Currently no. This is in place to match the discount emails and our verification system so your customers know what to expect. We are working on customization in the future to allow removal.
Can we customize the widget text?
Currently this is fixed - we are working on customization options in the future.
Can we change to a different language?
Currently we are English only - but we are working on adding language support in the future.
How does your pricing work?
Pricing is charged based on your store's monthly mobile orders - as eVouch widget views are only on mobile orders.Charges are processed automatically with Shopify.
